Course Requirements
Eligibility
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Meet Texas DPS Private Security Program eligibility rules, including criminal history standards
- Be legally eligible to work in the United States
- Full eligibility details are published by Texas DPS through the TOPS (Texas Online Private Security) system
Identification & Account
- Register using your full legal name — it appears on your certificate
- Use a personal email address you can access
- Keep your login private; your account is for your use only
Technology
- A computer, tablet, or smartphone with a modern web browser
- A reliable internet connection
- Ability to view text and images on screen
Course Completion
- Complete all 7 modules in order
- Spend the required minimum time in each module
- Pass each module quiz with at least 70%
Examination
- Final exam: 30 questions drawn from the course question pool
- Passing score: 70%
- Two attempts; additional retakes require approval from Trinity Security Services
